Founded in 2021, Abundance Academy (AA) was formed with the fundamental belief in the power of Africa (and its people) to shape its own future.
Today, only less than ten percent of young people in sub-Saharan Africa are enrolled in higher education institutions compared to the global average of close to thirty percent.
Today, we want to empower women in tech by giving them access to free IT education and mentorship from Velocity Inc, a fast-growing company with teams of developers across Africa in the digitalisation and e-commerce software niche. Our goal is to create a tech hub, in all our team locations, where African girls can get access to IT-education, job training, mentorship, and guidance. We provide time-efficient and very practice-oriented training with the aim of the fastest possible career entry —and that’s just the beginning!
At AA, we believe that Africa has the potential to be the next Silicon Valley.
And we’re here to make it happen.
Our long-term vision is for this tech hub to become a launching pad for unicorn startups created by students who have been a part of AA. We want these students to go on from this point forward into their careers with confidence and skill sets that will help them succeed in whatever they choose to do next. And we know they will because they’ll have been given the tools they need by us: an innovative training program designed by world-class developers and an amazing network of people ready to support them every step of the way.
We believe our initiative will spark revolutionary change across the continent and we welcome it!
